TRAUMA UPDATE @ JAMNAGAR

Gujarat Orthopaedic Association organised a Trauma Update with MP Shah Medical College being the engine of the program. This was done on 22nd September, Sunday at Hotel Aaram, Jamnagar.

Dr. Dipak Parmar, Associate Professor at MP Shah Medical College and Irwin Hospital was the chief Convenor for this interesting and intensive academic event. This was achieved with the continuous guidance and support of GOA President Dr. Vijay Sata and active coordination from Dr. Mohit Pabari, AP at MP Shah Medical College, Jamnagar.

Dr. Pranav Shah, Executive member of GOA and senior trauma consultant with interest in poly trauma and complex trauma – at Marango CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad along with experienced trauma surgeon and AO faculty Dr. Kashyap Ardeshna were the resource teachers. They did a fantabulous job of providing insights and manoeuvres for difficult fracture scenarios.

Challenging Fractures of upper end tibia and lower end femur with its approaches and stepwise tips and tricks for reduction and fixation if fractures was elucidated with manifold examples. In the late morning, ankle and calcaneum fractures were dwelled upon with experience, expertise and excellence.

In the afternoon session, the focus shifted to complex upper limb fractures including exasperating elbow injuries and tantalising wrist trauma cases. It was a showcase of talents and skills of the competently endowed duo who were in rhythmic harmony.

The interactive sessions were enlightening and rewarding to the greenhorn residents as well as the accomplished seniors in the audience. It was a hugely successful event with 66 registrations, sumptuous food and heartwarming Kathiawadi hospitality.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Ketan Thakkar, Secretary GOA and Dr. Dinesh Chauhan, EC member GOA.

All in all a Sunday well spent with positive vibes and knowledge assimilation.
